Thanks to the popularity of earth tones, the go-to yellow of the moment is earthy, deep and sensual while maintaining the mood-boosting qualities that create a bold and inviting space. Dulux’s Colour of the Year 2025 True Joy is an example of an earthy, yellow tone that represents ‘creative energy, optimism and pride’. In challenging times, there’s a desire to reset and start afresh, with yellow being the colour of choice. It goes very well with other earth tones like beige, terracotta or a burnt orange, bringing out their deep undertones.
Besides yellow’s earthy connection, it also brings to mind sparkly jewel tones. Emerald yellow tones are bright, lush and saturated, which work well with blues for a stylish contrast.
